Teban View is not the most glamourous of locations as it is sits pretty close to the industrial area of Pandan Loop, where you will find many shipyards, warehouses, factories and foreign worker dorms.

There are three 38-storey blocks with a total of 518 units in Standard 3 and 4-room flats.

This is one strictly for those who like to live around the West Coast area. It's a quiet neighbourhood for sure.

There is a small market and hawker centre about 250m away and you can spend your evenings or mornings jogging at the serene Pandan Reservoir.

While Teban View is literally surrounded by high-rise apartments, they are old and go up to around 10-12 storeys high (according to what we are seeing on Google Street view). So chances are if you get units higher than the surrounding blocks, you will get an excellent unblocked view.

Looking at the site layout, a lot of mid-to-high floor units here will get such views. High-floor units facing south-east and south-west will surely get a view of the reservoir and the sea as well. But that view comes with a caveat - a view of the dusty and ugly shipyards of Jalan Buroh and the bright lights and oily fumes of Jurong Island.

Transport-wise, no LRT or MRT here, this BTO is strictly petrol-only: bus, taxi or car. Read More

We move west across Punggol Reservoir and find ourselves at Fernvale Rivergrove. This is a massive project consisting of 1,728 Standard flats in 3, 4 and 5-room formats. There are 10 blocks ranging from 22 to 26 storeys.

To the north, south and west of this BTO are high-rise developments. Directly north-west is a site reserved for a school. To the west is Sengkang Riverside Park.

The LRT station Kupang sits directly to the north. The buildings are laid out quite nicely, with a large inner courtyard ensuring good unblocked views for units facing the inside.

From the looks of it there isn't anything in terms of shops and amenties nearby, not the best of locations for sure. The closest we can find is Fernvale Point right beside Fernvale LRT, which is two stops away from Kupang LRT. Read More

Moving on slightly further south to Sengkang's Anchorvale Harvest, we see HDB has given this BTO 717 Standard flats in the colours of 3, 4 and 5-room units. This BTO has 7 blocks all 16-storeys high.

Location-wise it's not the best. Not near any MRT or town centre but residences get quick access to those amenities via Farmway LRT to the north of the project.

Looks and finishing-wise it's pretty standard, no underground parking for residents here. Good unblocked views can be found in units facing south towards the school or facing east towards the hospital. Apart from those, the project is surrounded by high-rise apartments. Read More

Slightly further to the east lies this 694-unit BTO with Premium Flats ranging from 3 to 5-room apartments. There are a total of 7 blocks, with one 8 floors high, one 14 floors high and the rest all 18-storeys.

Like Waterway Brooks, Waterway Woodcress sits on the south banks of My Waterway @ Punggol and would ensure units facing the waterfront a decent unblocked view.

Again, no MRT in sight, only Oasis LRT station next to the project. However, Woodcress has space allocated for shops and a minimart which is a good thing. Another plus is the underground parking so residents will get direct lift access. Read More

This BTO on the southern banks of My Waterway @ Punggol holds a total of 1,312 Premium Flats with Studio Apartments and 4-, 5-room flats. Waterway Brooks consists of 14 blocks, with some of them staggered in height. The lowest blocks are 10, 12 and 14-storeys high. The rest are 17 storeys. 

This project might be pretty crowded but it has plenty of greenery and looks quite open. The units facing the waterway will stand to benefit from a more private view.

No MRT nearby though and no amenties like shops or supermarkets in sight, so you have to take the LRT from Damai LRT station (which is located right beside) to make your way to the upcoming mall in Punggol central.

The great thing about this place is the underground parking, meaning residents will get direct lift access to their Maseratis and Ferraris. Read More
